What Is BOTOX®?
BOTOX, also known as onabotulinumtoxinA, is a mild chemical created by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It produces a neurotic protein that, when used in small doses, can temporarily block neurotransmitters, which relaxes muscles. As a cosmetic service, BOTOX is the only FDA-approved treatment used to correct wrinkles on the face.
